Journal 6-8-13

Shazam?

So, I’m bored. Lol.

Yeah, it’s 10:15pm, I have to be up for work at 5 and at work by 6, so I’m going to be going to bed here in just a little while. I do have a few things I would like to talk about in our short time together, though.

First, I’d like to apologize. I was unnecessarily violent in my post yesterday. That’s not to say that I’m sorry I said it. I’m an author, I can see those terrible dark hallways the human mind can travel down, and I’m gifted with the ability to describe violence in extreme detail. I like being able to do that. And, yesterday, I could see the anger I felt, the bloody waves of red that fell over me while they were ridiculing the dead. I couldn’t stand it. So, I lashed out in writing.

Instead of blasting it all up over my blog, I should have used that anger to fuel a short story; something about zombies rising from the grave to punish those who don’t respect the dead. Now, I don’t know if that avenue is still open. Oh, I could write the story, but I’m not sure if it would have the same fire and passion that I felt yesterday while writing that post.

C’est la vie.

As for my next point… I’m thinking about going to school again. This time I’m thinking about psychology, Forensic Psychology and Investigation. The course is at Southern Community and Technical College, and I’m hoping to be able to 4.0 the entire thing, fixing the major screw-ups that occurred my first time through school. Well, maybe not fixing, but it will put me back on the right path. It might get me a nice little office job, and I might qualify for a master’s program. That latter is the real reason I want to go back. With my current GPA, which shall remain unstated, I don’t qualify for any master’s program. Well, I could, but I would have to go through Phoenix and the only master’s I’d want through them would be psychology. Phoenix, with its online courses, doesn’t give the clinical experience that you would need to go into practice. So, I figure I’ll do this, find a good job, then go through with my masters, and get into practice.

And, all of that is moot if my writing career takes off first.

If you haven’t noticed I’ve been putting some work in on HubPages, which is a revenue sharing site based on traffic ads and what not. Basically, it’s paying to blog. I’ve been trying to get my fiction, and my articles on writing to turn a profit. And, they’ve done a fair job. But, the one video game review I did has turned out much better, lol. So, I guess I’m going to be doing some more video game reviews.

Anybody have any suggestions or requests.

Ryan

Journal 5-27-13

Happy Birthday Erik, ya old fart.

Other than that, I guess I could go over a little of what went on today.

I worked. It sucked. But, not as bad as most days. Most days it’s kind of horrid.

On a happier note, I finished the first quarter of The Black Hole’s Teeth, and starting this Friday I shall resume publishing the chapters. You’ll be able to find them on ff.net and on devArt. This week also marks the end of In the Morning Light. The Epilogue comes out on Friday, and I expect that will be an exciting day for fanfictioners. As for posting In the Morning Light on devArt, it’s going to go the same way it has been. Me, putting each chapter up as the weeks roll on.

I also got some of The Black Hole’s Teeth typed today. Not much, a chapter and a half, but better than nothing if I am not mistaken.

As for other things, I set up a tentative publishing schedule for some Hubs. And, my fingers need to get moving, because it starts this week. Lol.

I wanted to get to Cold Lunch today, but I obviously didn’t want to get to it enough. I don’t want to force it, but I’m going to have too. I’m going to have to get past this…this whatever it is. Fear of one thing or another. I need to get away from that. I need to find the zen in my mind, that will take me to the completion of the novel, and get it onto the market.

Now, I’m going to finish up things to do by taking care of the hygiene thing, and getting the eff into bed.

Good night, ladies and gentlemen.

Journal 5-17-13

I didn’t…

I didn’t work on Cold Lunch today… It’s nobody’s fault but my own, and I’ll just have to do better tomorrow.

Anyway, what I did get done. I just posted Chapter 27 on In the Morning Light on FF.net, if you want to take a look. And, I posted Chapter 3 of the same story on DeviantArt. Yes, I’m posting them in both places. Trying to get twice the exposure or something like that. Lol.

I also meant to get some of the Raising Kain: Diseased God sample chapters up on DevArt for you to sink your teeth into. But, I forgot. Well, I mean I remembered. But, I’ve got like five/ten minutes to get this blog post written before my wife yanks my arm off and beats me to death with it. I really should be in bed you see.

So, in the spirit of keeping this short and sweet, I wrote a scene for The Black Hole’s Teeth. I have two scenes I need to type for the story. And, I’m not sure what else.

I’ve gotten a notebook specifically for my bitch fits. I keep it in the car, so I can lay into it while I’m at work. And, it will probably also wind up serving as a surrogate notebook when I forget my Hub notebook, or ff notebook, or insert whatever notebook in here. While I’m at work or in the car. I am going to have to get over the whole dislike of tearing paper out of notebooks, since I’m going to be tearing those pages out when I use it as a stand in for other notebooks.

I’m not sure if I’m running on all cylinders right now.

Joy.

I plan on going to see STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS in the next two days. Either tomorrow, or Sunday. And, I will go alone if I have to. For me, this is the must see movie of the year.

Other than that, I’m not sure if I’ve got anything else to say.

So…

Goodnight.

Ryan

PS: I was going to say something… but I forgot what it was.

Journal 5-1-13

I should be in bed right now.

I know that you’re probably sitting in a sun filled kitchen, drinking a cup of coffee, while you’re wrapped up in your favorite white fluffy robe. (Yeah, you wish. :) )  But, anyway, you’re reading this long after I sat down to write it. And, it seems that I should be in bed, because I can’t seem to get what I’m thinking through my fingers and into the computer. The connections just aren’t being made.

Anyway, I don’t remember if I’ve posted recently (I think the last time I did was when I started walking), and thus you guys probably don’t know the big news. I finished In the Morning Light. I’ve said that at least twelve times since I finished typing it two days ago. There are still about five posts left I think. Maybe four. I dunno. Anyway, there have also been some big changes since then. (Not really, but I like pretending.)

I made a facebook page for myself. I made a profile for my cat, Button. And, I made a community page setting her up as The Dark One. Another fallen angel, Lucifer’s second actually, who went to the Greek Underworld, whipped the shit out of Hades, and took over Tartarus, The Infernal Prison. Now, she’s disguised herself as a calico kitten, and is here to claim as many souls for her prison and her army. She intends to add to her territory. She wants Hell. And, if you know anything about my cat, you probably suspect that I’m telling the truth here.

I don’t know if I told you, but I now have a HubPages account as well. This is me trying to generate a little money from my writing, so you will find essays, and short shorts, and things that actually try to improve a person’s ability to write. You know, stuff that I wouldn’t post here; mainly because it would make sense to post those sorts of things here. Meh.

Then there’s DeviantArt. I created a profile there a while ago, and only recently have I started to use it. Tonight in fact. I posted a little photo tour of my writing room. I also realized that I could literally do everything else that I’m doing on devArt. In fact, I could repeat myself on devArt, but I don’t believe I’m going to do that. I might do it with the fanfiction, but that’s about it.

I also have a channel on youtube that I’ve decided to start using. I think I’m going to do that tomorrow. Haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it though. I’m thinking, probably read some of my short stories, maybe some of the trunk novels, and try to sell them as mp3s. Yeah, I’m kind of whoring myself out.

I’m also thinking about starting my own business, but I’m not sure how that one will go. I’ll tell you more about it the next time I post.

I had more to mention, but I really can’t remember what it was.

Oh, right, tomorrow I’ll be printing out the second quarter of Cold Lunch and doing the line editing on it. That should only take a couple of days, then I’ll be back to work on it. Slugging my way through the third quarter. I’ve been away from it for too long.

As one final note… I’m sexy and I know it.

Fanfiction Project In the Morning Light #11

Habit building.

Howdy folks, it’s me, once again, you can start to party now, or never fear because I’m going to do something. Yesterday, well the other day by the time you see it, was odd. I went to work, had a good-ish time at work (when do you ever have a really good time at work), and came home. I went for a walk. Came back to the house and sat down to do some writing, and my brain wasn’t agreeing with me. So, I got a page and a quarter written, and then stopped. I didn’t do anything else. I sat in my chair for like two hours not thinking, not writing, reading, nothing, it was a total zone out for me.

Today (yesterday), however, I was able to get much more done. I had a good day at work, I had a good walk, and I managed to write for almost four hours. True I only got the scene I was working on yesterday done, but the scene is done and that’s progress. Now, tomorrow, I will be working on the next to last scene of In the Morning Light, and I’m wondering if that’s why I zoned out so totally the other day. I don’t know what it’s like for other artists, but for me, and most writers that I know, it’s hard to complete a piece of fiction, anything of substantial length anyway. It’s kind of like post partum depression, I’d say, an empty hole in a part of you, that you know can never be filled. And, it’s strange for me. I didn’t think I’d feel that way about the ending of a fanfiction piece.

Anywho, that’s totally not what I wanted to talk about. Lol.

Yeah, I was going to talk about habit building. Like with the walk I was talking about earlier. For the last few days I’ve taken a walk at roughly the same time every day, and I will continue to do so until it is habit. I’m also going to try the same thing with my writing. Just trying to sit down every day at roughly the same time, and start writing. Then at the end of that session comes the blog post :)

So, if things work out well. And, I have no reason to believe they won’t, I’ll be talking to you all regularly. Like, every day kind of regularly. Lol.

And, that’s all from me.

Later kids.

Fanfiction project In the Morning Light #10

Disappearing Act.

Yeah, unfortunately I’m pretty good at those.

It has been over two months since I posted regularly, and I apologize for that. I don’t know if that means anything, as I have a tendency to apologize for just about everything. Though, I know some of my dedicated readers have missed it. At least my older sister did. Lol.

Other than all that I don’t know what to say about the situation. I’ll try to do better. Now that I have a stable-ish job, I’ll get off around the same time every day and I can start doing good habit things like working on the same thing around the same time every day.

Although, I can tell you that work was one of the main reasons I wasn’t posting. It’s not because my job is mentally hard (its McDonalds, I’m overqualified for the job) but because my job is very physically demanding. I know that sounds crazy. I mean it’s McDonalds, the first job most people have, lazy people, and high school kids. How can it be a physically demanding job? But, you have to realize that I work the grill. I’m making burgers all day, a basic back and forth motion, (which has proven to be a real pain in the back) and I get to truck the heavy boxes of meat around. I think the lightest box I deal with everyday is the bacon box. It’s maybe, three pounds. Not impressive, but when you compare it to the twenty-five/thirty pound nugget boxes, and don’t even ask what the regular patties and the quarter patties weigh. Then there’s the poor job some of our staff has at stocking the things in the freezer right.

Yeah, it’s a lot of fun to pull a box of French fries off a stack of twelve of them, which goes over your head by about five feet.

Anyway, I’m going to stop talking about McDonalds before someone tells them, and I get sued.

And, I would really guess that you would like to know about the good stuff. The writing!

I have….finished nothing.

Yeah, when I got to the end of the second quarter of Cold Lunch I started playing WOW again (World Of Warcraft), and that wound up dragging all of my time straight down the drain. And, my uncle died, and WOW became a safer place to be than my own thoughts. It still hurts to think about, but I have to move on.

So, I’ve gotten over the WOW hump and have been writing again, and I lied when I said I finished nothing. I finished Cold Lunch…the short story. Lol. I’ve been meaning to rewrite the short story that inspired the novel since I finished the first draft, and I used that as a spring board back into major writing. I’m thinking about maybe trying to get it published. It might help garner a sell on the book itself, and then help build some steam for the book. Basically, it will be good PR.

As for other PR things, I’ve been working on In the Morning Light, which a lot of people will be happy to see, considering I left them in the middle of a cliff hanger. Lol. But, part of that was intentional too: the cliff hanger part, which was already written in. The break from publishing it weekly was when I ran out of material, the middle of a big pit of depression.
There’s good news though.

I have four of the last eight scenes/chapters written. And, I think I might start reposting today. Or yesterday, considering I’ll have written this on Friday, and you won’t see it until Saturday.

Anywho, I’m going to hop off here. It’s time to get to bed. I’ve got work tomorrow.

Oh Joy! >.>

Cold Lunch project journal #39

Playing Catch Up.

So, technically this is also going to take the place of the last of the FanFiction journals for this time. Basically, what happened is I finished writing the In the Morning Light material for this quarter, but didn’t get it typed until a few minutes ago. And, I wrote and typed a Cold Lunch chapter last night. So, yeah, we’re pretty close to being finished with the second quarter of Cold Lunch. It’s not as far along as I would like it to be; but then, there are a lot of things that aren’t where I would like them to be.

Like right now, I would much rather be rich and sleeping in a bed with four posters, and a huge dragon carved into a relief over our bed. That just seems like it would be a lot cooler than living in the dinky little trailer we do now. If I had a camera, I wouldn’t show you pictures of it, mainly because, it’s a mess, and I don’t mean our stuff is a mess. The trailer is a wreck, and about the best thing that could be done with it is a good bonfire. I probably shouldn’t say that in a public forum, but it’s been said.

Now, what else was important about today? I don’t know. Nothing really I guess; just another day in the neighborhood where I try to avoid my neighbors as much as possible. It’s not because I don’t like them (I don’t like them), it’s mainly because I’m afraid of getting shot if I go knocking on doors. And, I really don’t have much of a social life, so, yeah. I’ll just stick to sticking with myself.

And, this is the point where my brain shuts down completely, because it’s too tired to function properly. Of course, I guess I’ll hit that point much quicker tomorrow. I have to work, and with the back pain and all, working just beats the effing hell out of me. I know a lot of people say that, and I’m no different. But, I’ve worked as a taxi driver for almost ten months, and now I’m back on my feet and bent over all the time, and sweating like a pig, over the grill at McDonalds.  It’s making everything hurt. Though I should use this time to start exercising, that might be a good way to keep from hurting so much twice. Lol.

Anywho, I’m going to leave you, with two sets of stats today. And, I’m going to go to bed.

Ryan

Cold Lunch
Stats:
                Snowflake Completion: Done
                Pages Written Today: 4
                Pages Written Total: 123
                Pages Typed Today: 6
                Pages Typed Total: 216
                Word Count Today: 1,980
                Word Count Total: 59,675

In the Morning Light
3rd Quarter Report
                Pages written total: 69
                Chapters/Scenes: 21
                Word Count: 34,314

Final note: I would just like to point out, that In the Morning Light has exceeded the amount of words I expected when I started. Starting Goal was 33,600 with an average of 1200 words per scene. Current total is 34,314 with an average of 1,634 words per scene. If I keep going at that rate I’ll add another 11,438 with the final quarter of In the Morning light. This will put the final total at 45,752 with a total difference of 12,152 words between the target goal, and the actual count. In the Morning Light is almost at the point where it can be classified as a novel. I’m thoroughly impressed with myself. Lol.

Fanfiction project In the Morning Light #9

Got my computer back.

Does the joy dance, realizes it looks weird, and stops. Cheeks are a little flushed, and I'm not making eye contact. They'll only judge you if they can see your eyes. Lol.

I dunno, but I'm a little sleep deprived right now. I've not been able to sleep due to some severe heart burn. Hell, I can taste it all in the back of my throat and it straight up makes me want to gag. But, there's not much I'm going to be able to do with it for the next few hours. It's not like I'm going to get up now to go and get tums. It's four in the morning, my ass should be in bed asleep. I'm not set up for this night time crap anymore.

And, I suddenly realized, I have absolutely no idea where I'm going with this. I guess it might make sense in the future, when all the worlds culture is gone, except my blog and my writing, then somebody will be able to make some sense out of it. They'll think it's a new literary technique, and thus break it down to the point where the post is little more than a dissected frog.

I never got to do that in school. Never once had to slit open a frogs gut, and poke at its insides with sharp objects. I'm thinking I missed an important growing experience here. Maybe.

My mouth tastes like an ash trey, and a big friggen burp. I need to get something to drink. But, I don't want to get up off my ass to go and procure tasty tasty beverage.

Nevermind, we're out of soda.

Mel's got two thirds of a 20oz in the living room, and a 24oz in the fridge. I don't think she'll miss the 20oz. Now I just need to find the motivation to get up and go into the living room. Grump.

As for writing, I got the last scene/chapter of the third quarter of In the Morning Light done. And, now, I get to hang around and type them, what fun.

Blah.

I think I'm going to call it a night, and try to get some sleep. God only knows if the heartburn will let me though.

FanFiction project In the Morning Light #8

The Fritz.

My computer is still unusable. Well, actually, it’s usable, I’m just afraid to get on it, and run the virus into something that even a total reformat won’t get rid of. I know that’s technically an impossibility, but this is me we’re talking about here. And, technology flat out hates me. Anyway, we’re waiting on getting a restore disc for Window’s Vista before we do the reformatting. And, I really have no idea where to get one. I could try amazon, but that would be too much work for me right now. Lol.

I have gotten some writing done :D I’m now up to the last scene in the third quarter of In the Morning Light. When I write that today, I will be finished with what I needed to use the hiatus for, and can get back to work on Cold Lunch. And, the second quarter of Cold Lunch, should (key word: should) be done in a couple of days. I only have 6 scenes before the end of the second quarter, and things are really starting to pick up in the novel. Not that there’s not enough going on in the first quarter, but the second and third quarters are the meat and potatoes of the novel. While the first and fourth quarters are mainly setting up storylines, and bringing them to a climax and a close.

Now, as for stats, I hate typing on my iPad, it takes for ever and I’m not one of those whose fortunate enough to have the keyboard case thingy for it. And, the only word processor I trust on my iPad is notes. Lol. I can’t use open word because it needs a constant internet connection to run. (not a very reliable thing here, and I don’t have the iPad set up on a data plan anyway.) And, it gets really testy when I try to copy and paste anything into it. It doesn’t like it. I don’t know why. Lol.

Anywho, back on the writing front, I got two scenes written yesterday. It was a challenge getting them done. I’ve been easily distracted more in the last few days, then I have ever been. I think it might be the new med. It’s making me kind of spacey. And, I guess that’s all from me today.

Ryan

Fanfiction project In the Morning Light #7

FanFiction project In the Morning Light #7

Technology sucks.

Well, I did have some stats for you on In the Morning Light, but due to computer issues, that is out of the question.

About my computer problems. First I ran into this massive virus (sirefef or something like that) and it decided it hated google. Besides Facebook and twitter, occasionally, every thing I do on the Internet is pretty much google related. So, that was fun. It was a good thing Erik knew enough about computers to find and delete the virus file.

So, the computer works the way it's supposed too for a grand total of one day. And, when I got online this morning I did a search on HubPages, saw an add for it somewhere, and it's basically one of those blogging sights where you make money off the advertisements they place on the web page. It's like pay-per click or something like that. It's like google ad sense. And, I'm planning on trying it out for a little while, play that popularity game for a while, build an audience, and just hope and pray that it starts to pay. We can use every dime we get.

And, I completely forgot the point of that last paragraph. What I was going to go on to say is that when I used a search engine it would take me to the page, then immediately transport me to another webpage. Which was basically like one of those off google search engines that are little more than Trojan breeding ground.

Anywho, I did get some writing done today, not a lot, but some is better than none. I got one chapter done for In the Morning Light, and to kind of make up for only writing one chapter, I got six hand written pages out of it.  It's wide ruled paper, but I probably got two thousand words out of it. And the last time one of these chapters took on a life of its own, it was over three thousand words. So, I'm looking forward to getting it typed just to see what the word count is. Lol.

And I believe that's it for me. Talk to you kids later.

Cold Lunch project journal #34

I’m shorting out.

I think that’s a pretty good topic for today, seeing as I’ve set down to write and now my brain seems to be leaking out of my ears. I dunno, I just seem to be unable to think at the moment. Hell, I can’t even think to try and write my blog post.

I should have bought some Excedrin while I was at Walmart yesterday. Normally, I treat this blockage like a headache (since really, that’s what it is) and the Excedrin kicks its ass and I get on with my life. Today I have no Excedrin.

So, I guess I’m going to try and write my way through the block. Today might be a longer post than we’re used to here in Ryan World.

Now, what I’ve got up my crawl at the moment is the loss of two of my outlines. And, what’s funny is the fact that they  disappeared before we started to move. One was for a children’s/middle-grade novella/novel I was going to write called Dead Handy.  And, the other was an Epic I was going to work on, a zombie novel based on Dante’s Inferno. I was going to call it Inferno. Lol. And, I was thinking about serializing it and self-publishing it. Most of the time traditional publishers won’t touch Epics. Unless they’re by big name authors. There’s usually not much money in it considering the costs of production, and the market and what not. Of course I could be wrong there, but I think I’m kinda right. Anyway, they were both books I was really excited about working on, and now the outlines are gone; which means I’m going to have to rewrite the outlines, and I’m going to worry that the outlines I come up with now aren’t going to be as good as the outlines I originally had. Not logical I know, but still something I’m bound to worry about. Hell, I’m even considering not redoing the outlines for that specific reason. And, they were books I was really excited about. Good lord, I don’t even know anymore.

Anyway, on Cold Lunch, I got the rest of what I’ve got written typed. So, I do have stats for today. Work just kicked my ass yesterday, and I didn’t get anything written. Hell, I got out of the shower last night just after 8 o’clock and got in bed. Went straight to sleep. Mel told me I was dead to the world when she got in bed, and I don’t even remember her getting in bed.

And, I was supposed to work today, but I went in and they told me they didn’t need me and sent me home. So, driving to Logan this morning was a serious waste of time. Oh well, I came home and I got back into bed. Then when Mel got me up for the second time I was much crankier than the first. So, I realized that when I have something to do, getting me up is easy. But, when there’s nothing to do, I might as well be a bear crawling out of its cave after a long winter.

Anywho, I think I’ve worked through my blockage pretty well, and now I’m going to get on with the writing.

As for advertising today, the new chapter of In the Morning Light up, and if you don’t mind swing by The Out of Towner and tell her, her ending sucks and she needs to add more to it. And, go to In the End, There was Love and tell her she needs to update more of the story…NOW. Thank you for doing so, and have a nice day.

Cold Lunch project journal #27

Back to work.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, if you can’t tell it is now time for me to return to working on Cold Lunch. That is correct, the major player is back on the table, and I am so excited. Lol.

I finished the line edits last night (I’m not at my computer last night; otherwise I would do a comparison of stats). I had also hoped to get a scene or two written last night but, other things got in the way of that.

The first of those things was pain. I started working at McD’s yesterday, and it’s the first job I’ve had in about seven months where I have to be on my feet the whole shift. So, yeah, I hurt from head to frigging toe, and my back hurts the most. And, the crazy thing I’m thinking about doing is starting the exercise portion of my “diet” now. That way, when the soreness finally subsides I won’t have to deal with it again when I start exercising. Or something like that.

The other thing was the round robin with my friend Jenna. My head has been exploding with ideas about that story; I had to commit them to paper to keep them from literally blowing my head up. I sent them to her last night, and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see what she thinks. (Jenna, if you’re reading this email me now. Lol.)

Also, I came up with a tentative name for my trunk novel. I’m thinking Dokkalfar. Dokkalfar is the Germanic term for the dark elves (drow if you’re a D&D geek), and the main male character of the story is a dark elf named Gangleri (another shot at mythology, Gangleri was one of the names/titles of Odin, it means the wanderer). Also, the story is something of a romance, and I’m not sure if I want to publish as a romance author. Maybe I can convert it to Urban Fantasy and leave it at that. Lol.

Other than that, I will be returning to work on Cold Lunch, and I will have stats for you tomorrow relating to Cold Lunch.

Talk at you kids tomorrow.

Ryan

Hiatus Journal #5

Meant to do.

Alright, so, I really meant to get back to working on Cold Lunch yesterday, but I got distracted in a way. Lol. I printed out the pages for the first quarter, and forgot to put page numbers on them, and I meant to get started with the line edits. Well, meaning to do something means nothing unless you actually get it done. At least it does in my book. So, where I’m at right now is pretty much nothing.

I did, however, write another scene for my trunk novel. That brings it up to 31 chapters, and that’s still not halfway through the novel. I’ve not typed any on it though, so, no real stats to put up, but I can tell you the scene was three pages long.

As for other things, packing sucks.

And, my brain seems to be made of bacon right now.

I need to get a new keyboard for my laptop. Buttons are sticking and its driving me crazy.

Anywho, none of what I could say from this point on would be intelligent, so I leave I will leave you with that.

How do you feel about things you meant to do?

Ryan

FanFiction project In the Morning Light #5

Still Grodie

That’s right ladies and gents, still no hot water, but there is a light on the horizon. When it finally gets over to me I’ll let you know what it is.

Anywho, today officially makes Cold Shower a novel and I’m gonna say it’ll be a 60-70k novel. That’s what, about the average length of a mystery, or a Harlequin romance. I might shoot for one of those two types. I might even try and work it so that it’s a young adult novel, which I think falls in that area. Who knows, we’ll have to wait and see how long it is before the hot water comes back.

As for In the Morning Light, I got the second quarter done today. And, as I write the story, I find myself thinking more and more that I should delete it off of FF.net and rewrite it, pump up the word count a bit, and try to sell it as a paranormal romance novel. That’s kind of the way it’s coming off to me. I dunno. I plan on leaving it, but I might keep it in mind as a platform for a future novel. And, at least I change more than just the characters names if I do rewrite it. (Sorry about that shot, for the people that like Fifty Shades of Grey.)

As for any other news, I got nothing. Just saying, there are seven more weeks of In the Morning Light ready to go. Hope you kids enjoy.

And, now I shall start catching up on my typing for my self-pub thing. I hope to get it done before Monday, so I can get back to writing Cold Lunch, but I’m not sure if that’s going to happen.

FanFiction project In the Morning Light #4

No Cold Shower

Alright, there wasn’t a cold shower today, but that’s just because I refused to take one. It might be a little grody, but yeah. No.

That doesn’t mean, however, that Cold Shower (yes, that’s what I actually decided to call the project) is staying where it was in length. It is moving up to a novella, and if there’s no hot water tomorrow it will finally be a novel. I am going to give the landlord the benefit of the doubt (I really shouldn’t), and do the novel in degrees. Like tomorrow it will be a novel, but it will only be 60-70k words. The day after it will move up to 70-80k, and so on and so forth, if it passes 110k then I will be up-ing it to an epic novel, I’m just not sure how to sell something that long. Lol. It will be more like a door stop than a book.

Anyway, I didn’t get as much writing done as I wanted too. I didn’t get a lot of sleep night before last, and had to get up really friggin early to go to a work meeting. And, thus didn’t have the get up and go to get a lot of writing done. I am back to work tonight, which means I’ll be sitting around doing a lot of nothing waiting for the phone to ring. So, I’ll have plenty of writing time, and I will get the second quarter of In the Morning Light finished.

When it comes to typing, I do have some stats to report. I’ve only typed one scene for the last couple of days, being lazy, but that did leave me with some typing to do earlier. Therefore, I have stats. For today.

That’s it for me.

When do you say no to a cold shower?

Fanfiction project In the Morning Light #2

Cold Shower

I just took what was literally the coldest shower of my entire life. And, it was all for my art. Lol.

But, no, seriously, not going to go into detail, but we’ve been having problems with our water heater, and our landlord (not going to mention any names, this isn’t topics) has been taking his sweet time getting it fixed. I want to strangle him, point blank. But, I’m going to be rational about it. I’m not going to do anything at all negative to my landlord. Hell, I just want the water heater fixed, after that I’ll happily go back to paying my rent. But, the cold shower got me thinking. Yes, even beyond my nerve endings screaming: IT’S EFFING COLD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

It got me thinking about small towns, and the power people with money have over those small towns. How things always seem to go their way, and that got me wondering. What happens when the small town turns against the people with money, and… I’m not exactly blank past there, but it’s my idea no one else can have it. Lol. But, yeah, I really don’t have much past that. Other than thinking it’s a lot like some of the material I’ve read from Stephen King. The whole small town thing. He kind of specializes in it.

So, who really knows where that story is going to go, except into the hopper. I’ve got a good idea as to where the story is going, and who the main character is going to be, but the rest of it needs to smooth itself out. Don’t worry, you guys will hear about it. I just need time.

As for In the Morning Light, I got two more scenes done, and am nearing the end of this quarter. (Yeah, they’re short quarters, it’s not meant to be more than a novella.) And, I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do after that. Typing the rest of In the Beginning is probably a good idea, since I plan on publishing it in January. But, who knows. My new story might take precedence.

Anywho, that’s all for me tonight. Err today. Or whatever time of day this shows up in your feed.

FanFiction project In the Morning Light #1

Way up past my bed time.

So, I’ve had a wonderful day. The breaker to my hot water heater keeps getting hot and flipping itself off. Thus, there is no warm water for a shower. That’s a good way to make me cranky. And, two, said hot water heater has sprung a leak, and has ruined about half of me and my wife’s wardrobe. It just so happens that it’s the half we don’t normally wear, but the loss is still unpleasant. And, my wife is particularly upset about the loss of her festive toe socks. It’s a collection she’s been putting together since before I knew here. And, I hate it too, because life is just too short for boring socks.

Besides that wonderful mess, I’ve managed to kill two chairs in as many days. One was a nice red fuzzy fluffy chair, the other was a walmart brand saucer chair. My fat ass destroyed them. Of course, I’m am particularly hard on chairs, as I like to cross my legs in them, sit Indian style, and just sit on my legs. I find it comfy, but chairs don’t like it.

On a note involving writing, I got almost three scenes of the new quarter done. I’ve got the bulk of those typed, and now they’re just sitting on my computer waiting to be posted. It’s probably cruel to talk about it like this. But, yeah, I’ve got most of the story on my computer right now. And, my lovely wonderful readers will have to wait until they’re posted.

I’m a bastard. I know. Lol.

Anywho, that’s it for me. It’s nappy time.

Why do you stay up past your bed time?
