Random Topic #1

I don’t know what it is. Lol.

Today is one of those days where I need Mel’s brain to pick things out for me. But, she’s not here today. They cancelled school, but had a Code W (in Mingo County it’s a Code W, I don’t know what it is elsewhere) which means students aren’t going to be there, but teachers have to report. And, I don’t get it. Teachers are paid to teach, if there are no students there why do the teachers need to be there. It’s like having a full staff at McDonalds, but the stores closed and there’s not a customer in sight. It just doesn’t make sense. I dunno, it’s probably got something to do with them being on salary or some shit like that.

Also, my walk for the day was screwed up because of the Code W. Normally, I do laps around the elementary school, which is right beside my house. I do my laps when nobody’s there. Because of the Code W there were people there. Grump.

So, I had to take another route, which screwed with my normal shebang and messed up my pedometer reading because of all the snow I had to trudge through. I really need to start getting up early enough to get the mud room warmed up. Then I can use the treadmill for my walk. And, at the very least I could just do laps in there. I dunno.

And, now I’m running out of things to talk about. My brain and I aren’t getting along well at the moment.

Usually, by this point I’ve managed to find a way to include some Dungeons and Dragons reference in the post. Or I’ll swing the post around to being about D&D altogether, and I think we’re going to go that direction today too. But, we’re going to throw a little Minecraft in there as well.

I’m lazy, and I’ve been trying to figure out what my world looks like. I’ve looked online for map making software, specifically for gaming purposes, but most of it was expensive and I’m not sure if it was for gaming or not. So, I had no luck there.

Then I started playing Minecraft, and I realized that Minecraft is pretty much a random map generator. There are also addons/mods/whatever that give you a world map. I used Amidst, and I think I’ve got a pretty good idea of what my world looks like now.

Now, I’m just trying to figure out how the stories I’ve made up thus far and their locations fit in with the map. I’m not sure yet, but I’ll figure it out. I know that the world spawn is going to be the location of the world’s largest city, Priasez. And, I’ve more or less picked out a location for the current city the PCs are in (Netheretia). I’ve even gone so far as to “clear” out a space to build this particular city.

Netheretia is a city situated in the Underhaven (underground) which is why the hole goes so deep. That and I really like blowing things up. Though clearing out all the left over bits and pieces is hard; that and cleaning up the lava and other things. It’s time consuming… (And, the destruction pictured above is much more widespread then what the screen capture encompasses.)

Which is something I dislike. I’m lazy and I’m impatient. I don’t want to worry about all this clean up, I want my city done now! I don’t even want to build it myself. I want it to appear all on its own. Though that’s probably about as likely as a million dollars suddenly materializing in my bank account.

Anywho, that’s more than enough out of me. Later kids.

As Time Goes By

In the last two days I’ve managed to forget my blog post each day L So, now I’ve had a major drop in views and the people who usually read my blog are upset. Probably not really, but I’m going to think that anyway. As negative as it might be.

But, I’m working on things, trying to push forward and not let the days I’ve stumbled clutter my mind and drag me down. I’m only human, I make mistakes the same as everybody else. What gets me though is how I dwell on those mistakes, and inflate them to great sizes. I give them more importance than they should have, and it weighs me down.

It makes me miserable.

And, misery is easy. Misery is the lazy way of life, the acceptance of mediocrity, and the denial of the fruits of our true labors and passions. Misery is easy because you don’t have to change.

Even now my mind is fighting against that word. It’s afraid of that word and so am I. Change means so many things. Making sure you change your underwear is the least of it. Change means success and failure. Change means pain and misery of a different variety, but if you strive through it and push hard enough you can break through that misery. You can improve.

I need to change, and I’ve been trying to change bit by bit. I’ve needed to change for a long while now and all the bits and pieces of that realization are falling together. I was even talking to one of my friends today about having to change the way she thinks so that she becomes good at math. I told her she needs to make that decision and find the way to follow through with it until she’s found her way out the other side; when she’s over to the point where math is easy.

I need to practice what I’ve been preaching.

For some reason all that sounds extremely negative, and I’ve managed to depress myself by writing it. That wasn’t my intention. I really promise that it wasn’t. I wanted to find the good in it, the thread of it that I can take and apply to my life to help clean up the mess I’ve made.

There was a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis song, I believe, that’s either about movies or books, but either way it’s talking about something one must do with both. They talk about how your whole life is this book/movie and that there’s only one person that has the ability to edit that work. I am the only person that can edit my story. You’re the only person that can edit your story. So on and so forth. The point is, again, that there’s only one place change can come from. (After driving around for a little while my mp3 player played this song. It is “Life is Cinema” and it’s comparing life to a movie. Just thought I’d throw that out there.)

And, I’m not saying that other people can’t help. There are hordes of people that can help. There’s even a series of careers based solely on that idea of helping somebody change. You are the only person who can institute change, but others can help instigate it, or show you the many paths you have to choose from, and they can show you the tools you can use to make that change.

In other words, therapists are awesome. You should go and get one right now.

Everybody needs to change. Remaining static is akin to dying. And, there’s one phrase I’m looking for right now. A common cliché I believe. Shit or get off the pot. Yeah, that’s it. Shit or get off the pot. Do something different with your life. Don’t just sit there. Embrace change.

Sort of on top of things

Today has been good. I really can’t lie. Today has been very good. I actually feel like I’m on top of shit.

For example:

It is 11:30 am and I’ve already done most of my to do list. Once I finish this post all that will be left are the extras on the list. The core goals (walk, The Goal That Shall Not Be Named, and blog post) will all be done. I’ll have the rest of today to do whatever I wish. And, number one on that list of extras is going to be a nice long nap. After I post my stats.

Cricket.

Hmm, it seems like good days don’t give me as much material to write about. Sooooo…..

I guess I’ll talk about other things.

Like Dungeons and Dragons!!!

DnD has been my favorite game since I was 17, and I curse my mother (kidding! lol) for not playing it when she was young and introducing it to me at a much earlier age. I know my kids are going to be much younger than I was when they first get exposed to it. Hell, they’ll be exposed to it in the womb (right along with the Stephen King audiobooks I’ll be playing without ceasing… you’re damn right I’m going to make my children nerds, I wouldn’t have it any other way.).

And, now I’ve forgotten what I was going to say…

Oh, right, Dungeons and Dragons! I’m going to try and make a career out of it, which will be kind of funny considering the number of times Mom told me I should be studying rather than pouring over my DnD books. Ah, the little ironies in life. Beyond doing that… I’m stuck again… Damn it.

Friggin brain isn’t working right.

It must be where I’m trying to get ahead. My brain is revolting because I’m making progress!!!

Oh, My God!!!

Nah, it’s probably just where I’m not used to writing at this time of day. Writing is as much like anything else, as it is habit forming. If you set yourself into a certain routine (like waiting till midnight to write) then naturally one’s mind is going to be disagreeable. It’s like breaking a habit. It’s hard to do. But, when one is trying to get there life straightened out then breaking habits, and making new ones, is a necessity.

Which is another reason behind my goals. I want to make them into habits so that I do without thinking about it. And, when I don’t have to think about what I’m doing (like when I’m walking) that thing gets much easier to do. Pretty soon my goals will be second nature and you all won’t have to listen to me bitch about not getting them done.

And, now that the moment of positive inspiration has passed, I think I’m going to go lay down. Give me brain a break, then when I get back up hit the DnD adventure as hard as I can. If I’m going to make a career out of it then I need to do some work in that direction. Lol.

Being Honest

So, being honest, I didn't write a post yesterday. In fact, in the last three or four days I've only written one post. I dislike the fact, but I'm not going to complain about it now. There's no reason too.

Anyway, my brain has been scrambled, and I find it almost completely impossible to focus on one thing at a time. Like my DnD adventure. I've got the story hook, seeds, and the first encounter written. Now, trying to work on the second encounter I draw a total blank. I want to work on this. I want to play Dungeons and Dragons sometime in the next week or two. Get the game started at the very least. Bah. I don't know.

And, the things that have been distracting me are other things I love. I've got three story ideas that are demanding attention. And, they're based off of my favorite moments in DnD. (I think I'm going to do a HubPages article on those moments.)

One is in the planning stages; I'm trying to get to know the characters and the story, fleshing it out, and working it out in my mind before I try to put pen to paper, even to start the Snowflake outline.

The second is a short story. Like most of my short stories it's a seat of the pants story, I'm just letting it take me where the story wants to go. No doubt I'll give it a second draft, and then try to get it published in one magazine or another.

The third is a novella based on a game played with an old friend. I still have to ask permission to use a lot of the plot elements, but I think he'll say yes. And, I think this is going to be one of the best damn stories I've ever written. At the moment it is also a seat of the pants story, letting it take me where it wants, with a vague idea of where it's going. I'll definitely outline it for the second draft, and that's if not having an outline doesn't drive me insane before I get to the end of the first draft.

There was something else I wanted to mention, but I can't remember what it was. Guess it was just a brain fart.

Anywho, I've got to get ready for work, so that's it for the day. Later tots and taters.

Ryan

PS: I meant to bemoan my lack of article writing and lack of work on Cold Lunch, but I don't feel much like complaining right now. So, I'll leave it at that.

Journal 5-31-13

I did it!

I finally managed to actually do it!

And, you’re a perv…

Anyway, I managed to do my list of things to do one right after the other. I just took my walk, did my hygiene duties, and now I’m sitting at my computer writing my blog post. I feel accomplished.

I just don’t know what to talk about now. I’ve been giving you “a day in the life of” sort of posts since I came back from the beyond. My views jumped sky high (for me anyway) and now they’ve dropped back down to 15 or 16 a day.

What happened?

Do I not post enough funny pictures about cats?

Or do I bitch too much?

I probably bitch too much. I’m good at that.

I am going to think of an interesting topic though. Right now… it’s going to be a good one… and all I can think of is the dude who ate the homeless guy’s face down in Florida. I’m not sure if that’s an interesting topic anymore or not. I think it’s creepy as hell, but it’s just one of those insane things that people do. There was another story that came out around the same time as the “face eater” and it was a guy who was cutting open his stomach for some reason, and when the police tried to help him, he started throwing his intestines at the cops. What the hell?

I don’t know.

What goes through these people’s minds? Do they plan this shit? Or is it completely random? And, if it’s random, what breaks in the brain to make it happen? And, I think we see those sort of issues on a small scale each and every day. I don’t mean people who are going to eat your face, or throw intestines at you, but what about the people who cut and burn themselves? Is the pain a release? A cry for help? What makes you want to do such a thing?

I had an experience similar to that before. I’ve got a huge burn on my hand that I tell everyone is because I touched my hand to a hot engine block. But, it’s not an accidental burn. It was a cigarette, one that was applied time and time and time again until there was no way to feel the pain I was inflicting. I can tell you now, I don’t know why I didn’t. It was like I wasn’t me, and I was just watching it happen, like it was on television.

Is that what happens when somebody cuts, or burns? Do they watch themselves do it from the outside, like they’re watching some person, some other, destroy their skin and send pain travelling up and down their arm? Is that a release?

I didn’t feel any sort of release after my burn. I looked at my hand and knew it should hurt, but I didn’t feel anything. I didn’t gain anything from the situation except for a scar I lie about. And, now, the scar breeds empty curiosity. I look at it and think; why did I do that? Was there a reason? Was there ever a reason? I don’t know the answers to those questions.

And, that became a really serious topic without me meaning too. I’m sorry about that.

Anywho, I am currently working on typing my next Hub, so the link will be on my Facebook page tomorrow at some point. If twitterfeed doesn’t do it automatically, then I’ll go in and post it by hand. Also on the writing front, I’ve got most of another article written :) I still haven’t worked on Cold Lunch. I think I’m avoiding it. I dunno.

That’s all for today. I shall talk to you cats later.

Journal 5-29-13

I did pretty good.

I’ve done pretty good today, and that’s on top of me feeling like I’ve had a really crappy day. I don’t have a particular reason for feeling like I’ve had a crappy day, I’ve just been negative. And, it kind of started yesterday. Like I was walking along and I stepped on a tack or something. Not something that’s painful, but just irritating enough to ruin your day, thinking that you should have paid attention to where you were walking, that you should have taken a different step, and… Holy crap, that’s a perfect metaphor for what’s going on with me.

Anyway, I’ve not really done anything productive today. Not really anything at all.

The closest I’ve come to productivity today has been taking care of my list of things to do done one right after the other. That’s why I said I did pretty good.

About being productive, it is only seven o’clock while I’m writing this, so it’s very very possible that I’ll get something productive done. Maybe I’ll type the Hub I wrote yesterday, and get that set to publish either later today or tomorrow. It’s not a continuation of my Star Trek Snowflake thing. I just wanted to write a review on Star Trek Online: Legacy of Romulus. I don’t really know how I feel about my first ever review type article. I don’t think I did a particularly good job with it, but I guess that’s up for you ladies and gentlemen to decide.

Anywho, if anything productive does happen today you’ll hear about it on my Facebook Page. Check it out, like it, and maybe I’ll be tempted to put some more content on it. Lol.

Later kids.

Journal 5-24-13

I had thought of something witty to say… then forgot it.

Other than that, success!!! I’ve managed to do everything before it got dark outside. Lol. I took my walk, but I didn’t get in the shower as soon as I got back. Instead I finished the article I’ve been working on for HubPages.

This article is starting to drive me mad. Lol.

I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with me on HubPages (you really should check it out, and maybe click on a few ads while you’re there, lol), but I’ve been working on a series of articles based on the application of the Snowflake Method of outlining to a fanfiction I plan on writing in the near future (Star Trek: Assimilation Nation). I figured it would be a very simple series. There are 10 steps to the Snowflake Method, so I figured I’d be writing 10 articles about the process. The problem is, I’ve gone very in depth with it, and now that I’m working on step three (this step, as shown here) has multiple parts. And, I’ve gone in depth with them to the point where I’ve written one article for each part so far. I’ve only written the first two parts yet, so I’m not sure if the others are going to follow the same trend, or if I’m going to be able to compress them into one maybe two more posts.

I could get all analytical and what not, and discuss what I think is happening. But, I would rather wait until I’m done writing the series. My thoughts on what’s happening with it would make another great article. XD

Anywho, I’ve not written anything creative yet today. And, I’ve not typed anything, so there aren’t going to be any stats today either. I think I am going to try and finish the first quarter of The Black Hole’s Teeth tonight. I’ve only got about a page, page and a half before I’m done. Lol. I’ve just not had the motivation to write it.

Been too busy playing Star Trek Online.

And, I believe that’s going to cover it for the day.

Ryan

PS: If you remember what the witty thing I was going to use to open the blog post, please tell me. I can edit the post then, and open it the way I meant to. Lol.

Journal 5-23-13

Good News!!!

Yeah, I’m excited, because today is the first day I actually managed to do each of my important things right in a row. It makes me a wee bit happy. :D

Anyway, most of today sucked. I had to work, that was bad enough, and I was in just the worst mood and was ready to curl up into a ball hidden in the corner by about an hour into my shift. That was fun to get over.

Then, my car battery died. This wouldn’t have been bad if it hadn’t been…

Raining Sideways!!!

Yes, it was raining so hard, and the wind was so bad that it was coming in vertically. And that was when I got off work, when I had to jump my car. And, the first thing I had to do, before I could jump my car, was push it out of the parking spot it was in while it was raining SIDEWAYS!!!

Yeah…

Sorry about that. I had to complain a little bit.

Anywho, I got started and finished writing my next Hub. But, I didn’t finish step three of the Snowflake Method in the article. So, I’ll probably wait until I’ve got all of it ready to post then start posting them. Probably a day apart, like the first one on Monday, the second one on Wednesday, and so on and so forth. And, I’m not sure how many of these there are going to be for Step 3. So, it might be one week, and it might be two. But, yeah, that’s the plan there.

Next, I’m probably going to look for another site similar to HubPages. Another site that pays for advertisements and what not. Then if I’m doing good on HubPages over the next month or so, maybe get another one going, and see if that improves the cash flow. Then I also need to start my little audio book project or whatever it’s going to be on youtube, eventually.

And, that’s all for today folks.

Ryan

Stats:
Pages Written: There was no typing or writing today.
Pages Typed: So…
Pages Not Typed: There are no stats.
Word Count: But, I’m having fun. :D

Journal 5-19-13

Day Two…

Day Two of the “Things To Do…” Project, and already our valiant captain has realized one thing that’s going to need some work.

This whole one right after the other thing.

Yeah, I took my walk at seven, and I didn’t get in the shower until almost midnight… that sure is one right after the other. Lol.

Anywho, today was marginally better than yesterday. I didn’t have a freak out working the table today, thought I was going too since new guy was at work today. But, it was cool. What did happen though, was all about mood swings.

You know how you can have a mood swing that is set off by the simplest thing. Like the sound of someone’s voice…

Well, I was in a really good mood this morning…

I’m going to leave it at that because what I have to say is not nice and would get vulgar in word choice. So, let’s just leave it at, there’s a kid at work that annoys me to the point where I can have a bad mood swing. One that lasted for two hours… and got worse every time he opened his mouth… I wanted to get violent…

And, yeah…

Anywho, let’s talk about writing. I got my Hub finished, and I should be posting it later today. I might type it, and wait a couple of days to post it. No real reason.

I also got started in the next scene on The Black Hole’s Teeth. Wasn’t much though, just a half a page really, while I was waiting for my sleep meds to kick in last night.

As for Cold Lunch, I’m starting to think I’m avoiding it, and for the life of me I can’t figure out why. I could think of some reasons though, if you wanted me to go into detail. Like maybe I think it’s safer to write the Hubs and fanfiction because I don’t believe my family’s welfare depends on it, and I can delude myself into believing that those things are going to help me when I do finally get Cold Lunch published… one day.

Yeah, negative thoughts again. Though, the Hubs, the blog, the fanfiction, all of that will help me when it comes time to get published, mainly because I’m working on building an audience through those sites, and I’ll use those sites as advertising space when it comes to getting my work into the hands of my audience.

As for advertising, I’ve also gone live-ish on Hub pages. I sat down and got all the crap set up so I could get paid through ad sharing and different programs about this and that. So, chances are, I’ll be including links to eBay and Amazon in my posts. You are more than welcome to click on these, and buy lots of items while you’re there. :D

And, I thought about activating Google Adsense here on Blogger, but I really don’t want to try and shove that much down anybody’s throat. Plus with the wide array of crap I write about here, they’d never know what sort of ads to put up. Lol.

To cut this short, I could go on with these little paragraphs about nothing for the rest of the night. But, I think I’m going to do some typing and go to bed. That will be the best idea.

Gnite.

Journal 5-18-13

Things to do.

Well ladies and gentlemen we have reached the end of a new day. A day that has been the dawn for a trio of habits, rather, things I plan on making habits out of. One of them is a habit already, sort of.

The first of this list… walking.

Yep, still doing it.

I took a week off due to the pain in my hip, which has more or less gone away now, and I’ve returned to it. I was afraid I was going to allow myself to find an excuse not to go. It was too easy for me this last week, just letting it go by. Though, I actually thought about walking every day, and when it was time to go back I picked it right up, like it was a natural part of me. I guess that’s the point of it being a habit. Something that happens automatically. And, that sort of brings me to my next habit.

I’ve had problems, for the last several years, with personal hygiene. It’s a struggle I’ve faced every day, and failed on more than I want to say. That’s what I was talking about being really personal the other day (I realized that trying to hide it for too long would make it seem more and more like sexual euphemisms, and, while I am embarrassed by this admission, I’m not a particularly modest person and I’d feel like I was lying by hiding it). So, personal hygiene is second on the list of habit building. I will be taking care of personal hygiene every day right after my walk.

Then the third… well, you’re looking at the third. I think I’ve said that before. But, yes, the third thing on the list is blogging. Like my walk, and my personal hygiene, my blog will be written every day as soon as I finish with the other two tasks. I try to walk around six o’clock, so the blog post might not cover everything I’d managed to get done in that twenty four hour period, but I’ll be fine talking about the rest of it on the next day’s post.

Like last night… well, I really didn’t do anything after my blog last night. Except snore. There was a lot of that. Not enough. But, still a lot.

I also had a really shitty morning. And, I was really moody up until my walk. But, yeah…

So, you all know I have some anxiety problems, and have been to the doctor a time or two about said problems, and I try my best to avoid situations that would lead to a massive complication with my anxiety problems. Work isn’t always the best way to avoid anxiety.

I went in, and there was this guy who’s relatively new and he was running the grill. I’ve ran the grill every day, every day, every day, EVERY DAY since I was hired. And, when I got there they didn’t put me on the grill. Instead they had me do prep for changeover. I was okay with that, I’ve done prep before, I don’t mind it, and it’s a nice and calm activity. So, I did prep. Then when it got time to do changeover, I figured I’d get put on the grill… I wasn’t. Instead I was told to walk him through changeover on the grill, while I prepped the table.

Ok.

I did that, walked him through it, got my job done ten minutes till, and stood there and watched while he finished on the grill. Kid didn’t know what the fuck he was doing.

Anyway, we get done with changeover, and I figure they’ll put me back on the grill now. I know how to run it, and have been running it—I feel like I’m repeating myself—every day since the day I was hired. I was the more experienced grill person. No, they put me on the table…
a.       I’ve had no more than ten minutes of training on the table.
b.      It creeps me out to mess with other people’s food.
c.       I’ve had no more than ten minutes of training on the table.

So, there I am, not knowing what I’m supposed to be doing, trying to make sandwiches. I was doing my best, and that’s not very fast. The orders were piling up beside me. The runners were bitching because I was slow. Then one of the managers started to tell me something else to do.

I couldn’t process all the shit. My mind went into overload, and I started to shutdown. By shutdown I mean having a panic attack. I stepped away from the table and grabbed my head. I calmed down for a minute, long enough to process what she wanted me to do. Then I went right back to having my panic attack while doing what I was asked.

I thought about asking to go home, but the manager in charge of the floor at the time was a total b***h, and would have asked me why. I would have told her I was sick. And, I guarantee she would have said: “Well, I don’t see anything wrong with you.” At which point my ability to control my mouth would have vanished, and I would not have a job right now. I would also have a pissed off wife.

Instead, I suffered through the panic attack, wondering when I was going to curl up in the corner, cover my ears, and rock back and forth going “la la laa la laa la.”

Now that I think about it that might have been a good tactic to get them to send me home. I’ll have to keep that in mind.

Anyway, yeah, that was my morning, and I’m sorry if my bitching put you to sleep. Unless you like sleeping. In that case, you’re welcome.

But, as for other progressive things, I’ve got a really good start on a new Hub. It’s a continuation of the snowflake series about Star Trek: Assimilation Nation. And, when I get done with that I’m going to type some of The Black Hole’s Teeth. After that, I’ll probably go to bed, mainly because it will be close to one in the morning at that point.

Anywho, I’m going to check out now. Later taters.

Cold Lunch Project Journal #40

The Undead Novel.

Alright kids, guess what!

Cold Lunch is back. And, it’s here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and it’s all out of bubble gum.

I’ve always wanted to use that line.

Anyway, as you can see, I’ve finally gotten my head on straight enough to get back to work on Cold Lunch. Now, I’m not working on the third quarter yet, simply meaning I haven’t started writing anything in it yet, but I am going through the second quarter and doing line edits and what not. And, though I said otherwise yesterday, I believe I’m going to put it on the market when I finish with this draft. I need to get some work out to the world at large.

I’ve got a third-ish of the quarter edited, and now it’s pretty much just a waiting game until I get to the end of the quarter. It’ll be a couple of days. I got up to Chapter 30, and the quarter covers Chapters 24-46, so I didn’t quite hit the third of the way mark. Now that I realize that, I think I’m going to go back and do two more Chapters. That will get me through to the third. Lol.

On another, probably less interesting note, I’ve not been walking this week. I got injured at work last Friday (one of the managers tried to drop a box on my head -.-), and was told to take it easy. Plus the walking was making my hip hurt worse. So, my streak is broken, but only for now. Starting Saturday, I’m back on the path, and I’m going to add two other things as well. Well, I’m going to try and add two other things. One of them is a little more personal than I’m willing to share here :P And, the other is this!

That’s right guys and girls. I’m going to try and make the blog a daily thing once again. It should be easy. Do the walk, the blog post, and my other task, one right after the other, and it will be just like walking out the door. Yay new habits. Lol.

Other than that, I think my new “hiatus” project is going to be a Star Trek fanfiction. Not the one I’m talking about over on HubPages. Nah, this one is The Black Hole’s Teeth, and as you can see from the fanfiction link, I’ve already published a few chapters.  So, if you like Star Trek, or if you like Star Wars, or if you like to see it when Star Trek kicks Star Wars’ ass, or maybe if you just like reading what I like, then you should stop by and see what’s up. Then follow it. Lol. (As a side note, like In the Morning Light, I’ll be posting this on deviatnArt as well. I’ll throw those links, and the FF.net links up on facebook, and my facebook page… which you should like if you haven’t already.)

Another thing I’m going to do is post some sample chapters on deviantArt. Probably just the first few chapters of each of the things I’ve written, and have typed so far. Well, maybe not the beginning chapters of all of them. Some of those chapters I really don’t like, and want to hide from the very face of the planet.

And, one final project that I’d like to talk about. I plan on taking the Star Trek fanfiction I’m writing, both the one mentioned above and the one mentioned on HubPages, and turning them into playable missions on Star Trek Online. So, if you’re a big nerd, come and play online with me :)

PS: I also want to start my little audio book thing on Youtube soon. Not sure when that will happen. I guess you’ll just have to wait until the motivation hits me.

Peace out.

Fanfiction Project In the Morning Light #11

Habit building.

Howdy folks, it’s me, once again, you can start to party now, or never fear because I’m going to do something. Yesterday, well the other day by the time you see it, was odd. I went to work, had a good-ish time at work (when do you ever have a really good time at work), and came home. I went for a walk. Came back to the house and sat down to do some writing, and my brain wasn’t agreeing with me. So, I got a page and a quarter written, and then stopped. I didn’t do anything else. I sat in my chair for like two hours not thinking, not writing, reading, nothing, it was a total zone out for me.

Today (yesterday), however, I was able to get much more done. I had a good day at work, I had a good walk, and I managed to write for almost four hours. True I only got the scene I was working on yesterday done, but the scene is done and that’s progress. Now, tomorrow, I will be working on the next to last scene of In the Morning Light, and I’m wondering if that’s why I zoned out so totally the other day. I don’t know what it’s like for other artists, but for me, and most writers that I know, it’s hard to complete a piece of fiction, anything of substantial length anyway. It’s kind of like post partum depression, I’d say, an empty hole in a part of you, that you know can never be filled. And, it’s strange for me. I didn’t think I’d feel that way about the ending of a fanfiction piece.

Anywho, that’s totally not what I wanted to talk about. Lol.

Yeah, I was going to talk about habit building. Like with the walk I was talking about earlier. For the last few days I’ve taken a walk at roughly the same time every day, and I will continue to do so until it is habit. I’m also going to try the same thing with my writing. Just trying to sit down every day at roughly the same time, and start writing. Then at the end of that session comes the blog post :)

So, if things work out well. And, I have no reason to believe they won’t, I’ll be talking to you all regularly. Like, every day kind of regularly. Lol.

And, that’s all from me.

Later kids.
