Cold Lunch Draft 2 project journal #15

Sucky Days

Alright, so, yesterday sucked a lot. Due to some extremely personal issues problems developed with work, and kind of exploded out of proportions. It wound up with me getting into an argument with my wife. One of those kinds of arguments that just scares the bloody hell out of you. Not going to go into any more detail than that, as even some things on the internet remain in the prevue of the private world. So, needless to say, I was just super fucking exhausted yesterday.

As such, I didn’t get a lot of work done at all. Nothing near what I’ve been able to manage the last couple of days. I only got a page and a half written, not even a full scene, and I haven’t typed it yet. So, the stats today are going to stay pretty much the same as they were before hand.

Anywho, I know it’s a short post, but I’m just going to leave it at that today.

How do you handle sucky days? I know I could use some better techniques for it.

In the advertisement slot, I think I’m just going to point out my Twitter account. You can follow me there, and listen to the semi random things I have to say from time to time. I’m trying to be better about updating it daily.

Cold Lunch Draft 2 project journal #14

Awesome Sauce

So, today is pure fucking awesome. I haven’t even really started working for the day, and already I’ve got two scenes done, and typed. And, I almost just want to stop talking right there.

Why?

Because I have this bad habit of putting my foot in my mouth when it comes to this sort of thing. But, really, the only downside I see to this is boredom for the rest of the day. Sure, I can look at the breaking 11k mark and feel good about it, feel like I’m finally producing something for the novel. That does nothing for feeling bored. Considering I’ve got all of this done at six in the morning.

That means I’ll have nothing more to do today.

Sure, I could try to write another scene, but I don’t want to stretch myself too far. If it comes down to it, then I’ll probably just type some more of my S-P project. I’m looking at it going up for sale in January, but right now I don’t have anything nailed down.

I really need to start using the random jar. It might give me more entertaining stuff to write about.

Anywho, I’m out.

What makes you feel awesome?

And, like yesterday, there is nothing to advertise. Except sleep. Which I plan on doing at some point today. It’s a good way to stave off boredom.

Cold Lunch Draft 2 project journal #13

Tired.

So, I stayed up last night working hard core on Cold Lunch. I got up to date on my typing, and wrote two scenes. I’m up to scene number seven, and I suppose I’ll start working on it when I get done writing this.

However, I’m exhausted, and really don’t want to do anything. So, I might not be working on Cold Lunch. This is not good, seeing as I want to write at least one scene a day. Really, I want to write two scenes a day, but seeing as I didn’t sit down to write until four, and that was just typing the two scenes I wrote last night, I don’t think I’m going to get two written today. Unless I’m really struck by inspiration and the Hand of God moves me through those scenes in an hour and forty-five minutes. Which is possible, however it’s unlikely. Why? It typically takes me an hour and a half just to write one scene.

And, did I mention how tired I am right now?

That scene might not get written until tonight, or maybe tomorrow.

But, that’s procrastination, and it’s not good if you want to get a book written.

Anywho, that’s it for me today.

How do you handle working when you’re tired?

And, there are currently no advertisements floating around in my head. Except one big billboard that screams sleep.
